Test on M System prototype was conducted to determine the strength of the M System both from the material (panel) and the system perspective under the influence of seismic forces. The test was carried out at the Pusat Penelitian dan Pengembangan Permukiman of a branch of the Public Works Department of Indonesia in Bandung on October 2009. The result of the test was satisfactory.
The prototype represents a four storey low cost apartment unit type 21 under the housing program of the Ministry of Public Housing. It has been modified to suit laboratory condition with dimensions as follows : width x length x height = 3.90 meter x 5.80 meter x 5.90 meter. The conversion of four storey to two storey was by means of load surcharge to the perimeter walls at the roof and to the roof slab as well as the upper floor slab respectively.
